Painting challenge finished

For my first time doing this painting challenge I managed to meet my goal and not make the wife mad! I also enjoyed seeing all the different things others had painted and pushing myself to paint more than I likely would have. Next year I will have a 6 month old so the likely hood of doing another 1000 points might be a stretch. Or so I am told by others with kids. Either way I will get some painting done next challenge!

Everything I painted together

I started out with the idea of painting the whole ACW Battle in a box by Perry Miniatures. However I quickly switched gears and ended up painting Kings of War first and would continue switching around through the competition.

After painting up the Kings of war figures I switched to Flames of war and then back to Kings of war. I did this several times till I finally decided to move on.

Doing the USA vehicles it was my first foray into dealing with decals. While someone time consuming not as hard as I made myself think it would be.

The German group I painted up. Thanks to the comments on my first post of these guys I dont feel so bad about the camo/attempt camo scheme on them now. Still missing that dang base for those 4 Germans though!!

Finally made it to the ACW battle in a box set. I started out with Union soldiers. While just being rank and file these still seemed to take a good amount of time.

Finally the last ones I painted up. The Confederates. I used different colors on their hats and pants etc to try and show they weren't as well supplied and they would use what they could. Even painted some of their pants union color as if they got them by raiding a union convoy. (or so I have read and been told, don't want to upset any history buffs) I'll let my brother JJ advise me on that. Mr Civil war History buff himself

American Civil War (ACW) figures painted up

Finishing out the Analogue Paint challenge this year I have the following Civil war minis from the Battle in a Box by Perry Brothers. Almost done with all the infantry only a few more then on to the Cavalry and Cannons!
one shot with all of them finished up.
Confederate Officer with the Flag bearer. Still need to get the flag done up for him though.
Painted a couple Confederate soldiers with Union color pants on. To show maybe they took them in a Union supply raid? Or maybe off a prisoner? Things got desperate for the rebels at times.
Last shot of the Confederates.
Close up of the Union Office and Flag Bearer.

These were my second union soldiers painted up. Below are the first set I did
All of them lined up in front of some battlefoam

As I mentioned this was the last entry in the Analogue Paint Challenge this year for me. Ended up with 1,034 points. I had a goal of 1,000. So beat it just slightly. My personal goal was to have the whole Battle in a Box ACW finished up. Didn't quite accomplish that. However did paint quite a lot and had a lot of fun doing it.

More Skeletons for Kings of War

Another 10 skeletons painted up for Kings of War. Painted up same as before. Added a couple different heads from the sprues this time however.
Shot of all the Skeletons painted up.
Right side of them. Used the two heads with a crow picking out whats left of the brain and one with an Axe sunk in his skull
Another shot from the other side.

Have another 20 skeletons and Necromancer to paint up. However I could try a game out with what I have painted already. Need to get the movement trays done next and then have them battle it out on the tabletop!

Zombie horde!

Painted up some more zombies for Kings of War. I think I am good on Zombies now and need to move on to the other units for Undead in Kings of War.
I haven't hit them with any blood yet. I was debating doing this and think I will hold off till they are all put on a movement tray to decide if I should add some blood or not.
Not entirely happy with how the eyes turn out on these guys. I could spend more time to make them really stand out. Mass battle games though just make me want to get some paint on them and get them on the table.
Hopefully all these Zombies will put a hurt on anyone I play in Kings of War. If they turn out to not be very great in game. Well they were fun to paint at least!!

Some German WW2

Finally finished my Ramsh's Charge box set. Not a bad box set to get some infantry, tanks and transports all at once in PLASTIC!!!
Here is the infantry. Some how I lost a base and have to wait for a replacement to show up. So wasn't able to fully base all of them.
I unfortunately didn't enjoy painting these guys as much as the US infantry I painted earlier.  I had a hard time finally choosing the paints I was going to use as well.
Now for the tanks and Half tracks. I was using an airbrush for the camo. Pretty sure I used the wrong wash as it really made the tanks look dark and dirty. However the airbrush lines were pretty thick as well
Doesn't look very historical accurate also not 100% sure I like how it turned out
They do look pretty good though for a camo woodland look I think.
Close up of the Commanders and infantry in the half tracks.
